After employment in the direction division at the Shizuoka Performing Arts Center, Marie Moriyama was sent by the Agency for Cultural Affairs to study at Petersburg, Russia in 2020. She returned when Russia invaded Ukraine in 2021. Since then, she has participated as a stage manager in large variety of works by artists including Toshiki Okada, Meiro Koizumi, and Midori Kurata. She has also discharged the roles of technical manager and coordinator in many international coproduction works and international festivals. She serves as technical director in plays by the troupe chelfitsch and is appointed to be the technical director (performing arts) in the 2025 Aichi Triennale.
