Megumu Takashima

Megumu Takashima is an art and performing arts critic. They also work as a researcher at the Archival Research Center of Kyoto City University of Arts, and write a column serialized in the web magazine artscape. Their criticism revolves around gender, queerness, and (re-)presentations of history, and spans the borders of contemporary art and the performing arts. Their recent publications include Momose Aya: Interpreter, which was published by Bijutsu Shuppan-sha in 2023. They also wrote an essay and won an award at the 27th Theater Arts Award for Critical dismantlement of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly and recovery of the subject’s “voice,” – Madama Butterfly by Theater Neumarket & Satoko Ichihara / Q.
